Configuring TCP/IP for LinearView 3.0

These instructions will help you set up local TCP/IP networking, used by LinearView 3.0 to present information through your web browser while you are not connected to the Internet.

If you have a permanent connection to the Internet, or if you use LinearView 3.0 only while connected to the Internet, you're already set up and can ignore these instructions.

From the Apple menu, select Chooser. Make sure "Appletalk" (lower right corner) is set to "Active". Then close the Chooser window.

From the Apple menu, select Control Panels, then TCP/IP. From the File menu, select Configurations.... You may or may not have more than one configuration already set up. Select Default, then click the Duplicate button. Type LinearView 3.0 as the name for the new configuration, and click OK.

You should now see your new LinearView 3.0 configuration appear with the other configuration(s). Select LinearView 3.0 and then click the Make Active button, which makes your new configuration active and takes you back to the TCP/IP window.

Make these settings:

Set Connect via: to AppleTalk (MacIP)
Set Configure: to Using MacIP Manually
	For IP Address: type 192.168.0.2

(Make sure there aren't any spaces between the periods and the numbers when you
type "192.168.0.2".)

Close the TCP/IP window and click Save when asked to save changes to current configuration.

Later, when you want to connect to the Internet, go back to the TCP/IP control panel, select the appropriate configuration, and make it active.
